After doing my usual diligence and research, I decided on this unit and I'm absolutely pleased with my choice! I've had this unit since Christmas-time and wanted to put it thru it's normal paces before submitting any type of review. This until does it all, does it very well and all at a price that is among the lowest out there for any coffee grinder - certainly less than some of the other real crap models I've looked at and far less than any of the high-end brands at triple the price. Here's why the IDS77 is so good: 1) your grind is always consistent each time, as you simply press the buttons for the amt. of cups you want to brew and then set the grind to either "fine" for Espresso, "Med." for virtually all of the most common, popular drip style coffee makers, or "coarse" if you happen to have a percolator type model coffee maker...that easy! After you've set that, simply press and hold the grind button on the top and when it stops - Bada-Bing... you're done!! So, you'll always get a really consistent & precise grind each time. And you really can't screw the process up too bad, unless you're a complete dumba$$ or decide for some reason to start/stop/restart the grinding process. But why would you do that, when this unit makes it so shamelessly easy?? 2) The "chambermaid" feature does an outstanding job at helping to wipe about 99% of the ground coffee out of the chamber, normally just leaving a fine dusting of coffee in the chamber cup - far better than other grinders I have used that would leave about 1/16"-1/8" of compacted ground coffee on the bottom of the grinding cup. 3) Both the grinding chamber cup and the top twist off easily from the unit, so you can both fill it and empty it out with a few taps and twists into your coffee maker - all away from the grinding base; which is a really nice, convenient feature, that also allows for easy periodic sink cleaning. Most of the other units don't have this feature. The unit is also somewhat quieter than most other units when grinding. And one final note to mention is that the 3 ft. power cord is wound up inside the bottom of the unit, with just about 1 ft. extended when you first take it out of the box. So, simply unwind what you need to reach the electrical outlet and you can always wind it back up inside the unit when you're done. I think you'll be very happy with this unit; especially at this price point! PS - you can always try this unit out before buying it, as WMT & TGT both carry it in their stores for about the same price. Just save your receipt and return the one you get from AMZN back to the store ; ) !!
