My previous grinder was very substandard. It didn't hold enough beans for a whole pot of coffee, ground everything very inconsistently, and it was impossible to use without making a mess. I went looking for a new one, but simply didn't have the budget for the $100 burr grinder for which I lusted.

This grinder fits the bill and is such a great value for the price. It grinds a whole pot's worth of beans in one batch, and there is NO MESS. I'm hardly a connoisseur of coffee, but to me it does a perfectly capable job of grinding the beans for my drip coffee maker. An added bonus is that it works more quickly than my old grinder, and is just a little quieter. And it looks pretty cool, too! It also simplifies coffee grinding with its auto-off feature; now my husband, who previously claimed that grinding coffee was "too tricky" and never made the coffee, might actually do it once in awhile. (A girl can hope, anyway!)

My only sadness is that I noticed *after* I bought this one that there is also a red one available. I wish the red was listed as part of this listing so I hadn't missed it the first time around. If you'd like a red one, it's available here on Amazon, just not in this listing.
